I research the companies, check every fact against the company's own pages and public records, and write the rankings. Where a fact cannot be confirmed, the page says so instead of guessing. The scoring formula and its weights sit in the open on the methodology page.
I have spent 16 years in digital marketing and search, mostly on how buyers find and choose a company. I studied visual communication at the University of Texas at Arlington, and I work from Fort Worth, Texas.
Short term rentals pulled me in through the numbers. Owners hand a manager 18 to 30 percent of their revenue, and almost none of those managers publish a rate. That is why the fee index exists, and why it names the companies that publish nothing.
I work with some of the companies on this site. Those relationships are named in plain text on the pages where the companies appear, and they never buy a position. No company pays for a listing, a rank or an owner request. The rules are in the editorial policy.
